    INDIANA mSA’S APRIL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE AT 5.3%

     The April seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Pennsylvania went down one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.7 percent and the national rate decreased two-tenths to 3.9 percent. Over the year, the mSA’s rate fell nine-tenths of a percentage point. Indiana tied with three other counties for the 51st lowest unemployment rate among Pennsylvania’s 67 counties.

    Unemployment rates and rankings of adjacent counties were: Jefferson (5.0%, t-40th); Clearfield (5.3%, t-51
    st); Cambria (5.3%, t-51st); Westmoreland (4.6%, t-26th); and Armstrong (5.3%, t-51
    st). Unemployment rates across Pennsylvania ranged from 3.3 percent in Adams and Chester counties to 7.2 percent in Forest County.

    April passenger increase at Pittsburgh International marks two years of growth

    Pittsburgh International Airport saw more passengers in April with figures for the summer expected to be the highest in 10 years.
