Business Roundtable Being Planned
It has been an interesting 3-4 years for the business community, and those businesses within the Indiana County boundaries are no exception. A number of new concerns have risen and a variety of different issues are at the top of business owners’ minds. It is for these reasons that the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce is currently developing a business roundtable event.
The Indiana County Chamber of Commerce is active in its advocating for businesses, both large and small, for issues that matter to the business owners and employees. A business roundtable event would allow for all businesses and organizations throughout the county to get together and discuss their current challenges, current successes, and current concerns for the next five years. Mark Hilliard, President of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, states that hearing directly from these businesses is vital for the Chamber’s efforts in being able to assist them.
“We do not want to make assumptions as to what our county businesses are concerned about and what they may need help with,” Hilliard said. “We want businesses, whether they are Chamber members or not, to be able to speak openly and honestly to provide our team the input that we need to be able to assist each of the businesses in the future.”
According to Hilliard, additional organizations and county leaders such as members of the Center of Economic Operations (CEO) and elected officials will also be invited to the event so that the voices of the businesses in the county are heard loud and clear.
“We like to take a team approach in our efforts to help our business community and by inviting the necessary stakeholders to this meeting, we will all be on the same page as we work to create a better environment in Indiana County,” Hilliard explained.
The business roundtable is tentatively scheduled for January 2024 with a firm date, time, and location to be announced soon. Visit indianacountychamber.us to stay up to date on this and other upcoming events.
