Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Founded in 1875, Indiana University of Pennsylvania is a vibrant, comprehensive, research-based, teaching-focused, student-centered learning community that combines the opportunities of a big university with the highly personalized and intimate learning-centered environment of a small college.

Roughly 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled in more than 120 undergraduate and 60 graduate degree programs. They enjoy traditional and nontraditional classroom experiences, engage in research and service activities with their faculty mentors, become lifelong learners, prepare for rewarding careers and productive lives, and develop leadership skills for effective citizenship.

Students learn from faculty members who are leaders in their disciplines, conduct research worthy of funding by national agencies and foundations, and have earned many awards, including numerous Fulbright scholarships and fellowships.

Through faculty research and service, IUP makes significant contributions to the workforce education, economic development, and cultural strength of the region, commonwealth, and nation. The Office of the Executive Assistant to the President for Government and Community Relations coordinates community and professional-service outreach efforts.

IUP’s Government and Community Relations operation facilitates business development and innovative workforce services by pairing internal and external partners that influence the workforce and economic development of Indiana County and the region. The office supports the community through a commitment to create a competitively skilled and competent workforce.
