ICTB Honors Historical & Genealogical Society of Indiana County With Tourism Ambassador Award

The Indiana County Tourist Bureau recently honored the Historical & Genealogical Society of Indiana County with the 2024 Tourism Ambassador Award.

There are many reasons the ICTB Board of Directors chose to honor HGSIC, including appreciation for its mission, which “… seeks to promote a greater appreciation of the Indiana community’s rich heritage and a better understanding of life today,” its variety of programs offered throughout the year and for hosting visiting tour groups, which all contribute to our quality of life and enriches Indiana County’s tourism opportunities.

The evening included a presentation by Jonathan Bogert, the society’s executive director, in which he debuted a new promotional video created by HGSIC. ICTB Executive Director Laura Herrington also acknowledged several longtime ICTB board directors as tourism ambassadors, including President Gregg Van Horn, Vice President and former Treasurer Jaquelyn Hathaway, Commissioner and former Indiana University of Pennsylvania representative Robin Gorman and former Treasurer Valerie Balogh.

There were approximately 100 people who attended the event, which was held June 14 at the ICTB office in the Indiana Mall.
