Indiana County Tourist Bureau Highlights

The Indiana County Tourist Bureau (ICTB) celebrated their 60th anniversary on June 8 with an event held at the Indiana County Jimmy Stewart Airport. The Indiana County Tourist Bureau has a long legacy of leaders, contributors, members and community who have given their time & talents over the past 60 years. It’s their dedication that resulted in the celebration of this special milestone. Thank you to so many from the Indiana County community for contributing to the success of this anniversary celebration. Brad Kratz of Innovative Aviation and Rick Fuellner and his team at the airport graciously provided the unique venue for the special celebration. Guests enjoyed a “Taste of Indiana County” with a variety of menu items provided by tourist bureau members, touring “Luck of the Irish”, a C-47 Skytrain, and listening to music through the decades. Special recognitions were presented by the Indiana County Commissioners as well as the offices of Senator Pittman, Representative Struzzi, Congressman “GT” Thompson. ICTB was pleased to honor Silas C. Streams with the Pioneer Award in recognition of being the “First Christmas Tree Grower” in Indiana County. Si was a pioneer in developing the Christmas tree industry which ultimately led to the county being named “The Christmas Tree Capital of the World”. Details and photos of the evening can be found on the tourist bureau website: www.visitindianacountypa.org/2023/06/ictb-60th-anniversary-celebration/

Announcing a new Indiana County, PA Visitor Guide!  Approximately every two years, the staff at ICTB begins the process of preparing and designing the next Visitor Guide.  The internal office project is a collaborative effort that ultimately results in ICTB’s primary marketing and promotional piece. Sixty-thousand guides are then printed locally at Gazette Printers and distributed at various events, travel trade shows, PA Welcome Centers, Turnpike Plazas, AAA Centers, hotels and other county’s tourist bureaus. Additionally, the guides will serve as a fulfillment piece for leads and are included in various welcome packets. Visitors preferring electronic copies of the guide can view, or even download, a copy of the guide on the ICTB website. www.visitindianacountypa.org
