County Education Facility Recognized in National Hall of Fame

The Indiana County Education & Technology Center project has been recognized by Varco Pruden Buildings for architectural excellence as a Best-in-Class Winner of Schools for the exclusive 2023 Hall of Fame award. CAVCON Construction of Greensburg, PA was the Construction Manager and Desmone Architects of Pittsburgh, PA served as the architect of record. Varco Pruden Buildings, a division of BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc., is one of the nation’s largest building-solutions companies with a network of more than 1,000 builders across the United States and Canada.

The Indiana County Education & Technology Center, located in White Township was developed by the Indiana County Commissioners through the Indiana County Office of Planning & Development to address training needs and workforce challenges. The Commissioners wish to acknowledge the many subcontractors on the project for their craftsmanship. The 26,400 square foot state-of-the-art education facility currently is home to the Westmoreland County Community College, Indiana campus. There is 11,166 sq. ft. of shell space remaining for a proposed STEM education facility.

The building is located on the campus of the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC), a technical school in Indiana County serving high school and adult students. The ICTC provides technical and academic curricula offering students both theory and hands-on education into secondary education or direct employment into the trades. Together each of these organizations serve as an educational hub for the residents of Indiana County.
