ICTB Update

The Indiana County Tourist Bureau (ICTB) is looking forward to a summer filled with FUN, family-friendly events! Live music will fill the air with the return of a variety of community concerts held outdoors at local venues throughout Indiana County. Enjoy the Historic Canal Days in Saltsburg, Strawberry Saturday in Smicksburg, Pick-A-Dilly Herb Faire in Dilltown, local farmer’s markets and the list goes on and on. Once again, this year, the Indiana County Center for Economic Operations (CEO) is sponsoring the Jimmy Stewart Airshow, held July 9 & 10. Stop by the ICTB office at the Indiana Mall to purchase tickets in advance at the discounted price of $10 or pay $15 at the gate. Now that the weather is getting nice, be sure to simply have some FUN exploring our parks, trails and waterways.

Thinking ahead, make plans to join ICTB as we celebrate “Indiana County Day – Christmas in July” at Idlewild and Soak Zone on Friday, July 22. The first 200 kids to stop by the Indiana County Tourist Bureau/Indiana County Christmas Tree Growers’ Association gazebo will receive a FREE GIFT! Enjoy all the attractions, visit with Santa, and sign-up for hourly prize drawings. This event is sponsored by the Indiana County Tourist Bureau and the Indiana County Christmas Tree Growers’ Association.

Can’t join us on July 22? The Indiana County Tourist Bureau is selling Idlewild and Soak Zone tickets at a discounted price of $30 each, a significant savings off the gate price. These tickets are valid Mondays – Fridays during the ENTIRE 2022 season! An additional $10 will be charged at the gate to use the tickets on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets can be purchased at the ICTB Office in the Indiana Mall, from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday or at the following satellite locations: Indiana First Bank in Blairsville, Ideal Market in Homer City, Valeski’s 4th Street Bi-Lo in Indiana, Tate’s Supermarket in Clymer or All-American Barber Shop in Saltsburg. ICTB Future Events Are Planned

In 2018, Indiana County was chosen to be the host site for the 2023 Annual Conference of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP).  While this was very much a county team project, the success/award was due in large part to the efforts of former County Commissioner, Rod Ruddock. On May 20, 2022, CCAP Senior Meeting Planner/AAP Executive Director Terry Cochran visited Indiana County to tour the host venues and begin the planning process for the fall 2023 event.

Save the date, July 4, 2026. America 250 is a nationwide celebration of our country’s first 250 years. You can find out more by visiting https://america250.org/ and start planning your celebration!
