Indiana County mSA’S Unemployment Steady At 4.7% In November

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the Indiana Micropolitan Statistical Area (mSA) remained flat over the month at 4.7 percent in November 2022. Over the month, the statewide rate remained steady at a record low 4.0 percent (records back to 1976) and the national rate was also steady at 3.7 percent.

Total nonfarm jobs (not seasonally adjusted) in the Indiana mSA dropped by 200 to 29,100 in October. Jobs in all nine published supersectors were essentially unchanged over the month. Over the year, the largest declines were in government (-300) and mining, logging and construction (-200). Leisure and hospitality added 200 since November 2021.
